Basketball Championships
It’s March Madness Special Olympics Virginia-style! Don’t miss a moment of the annual Basketball Championships in Stafford, including the GEICO All-Star Friday Night basketball challenge, athlete and coach shootouts, the Victory Dance, plus skills, half court and full court action all day Saturday.
Since 2009, Basketball Champs is even LOUDER thanks to our new Volunteer to Cheer initiative that allows individuals and groups to sign up to cheer on our athletes. Volunteer to Cheer is supported by the Department of Education’s Project UNIFY grant funds.
Basketball Championships, one of Special Olympics Virginia's six state-level competitions, has been in Stafford since 1998; prior to that, the event was held in Hampton. Stay tuned for more details as the event approaches.
