Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Special Olympics Virginia. Volunteers are the core of the Special Olympics program, allowing us to provide year-round training and athletic competition for more than 10,000 athletes of all ages.

If you are interested in the many year-round opportunities we offer, please fill out the Volunteer Interest Form below. Your information will be routed to the appropriate Region Director, who will contact you with additional information about volunteer opportunities in your area.   • Indicate below if you are interested in specific volunteer opportunities.
  • Assistant Coach - Work with a group of athletes for two hours/week for a three-month sport season.
  • Event Volunteer - Help for a minimum of two hours at a Special Olympics sports competition or fundraising event.
  • Local Program - Help run a local program. Positions include committee chair or committee member. Committee examples include public relations, athlete registration, family hospitality, volunteer coordinator, newsletter editor, etc.
  • Professional Skills - Positions include photography, medical coverage at events, sports official, ham radio operator, graphic design, writing, public relations, database design, etc.
  • Office Assistance - Help in a Special Olympics office. Tasks include data entry and event preparation.
