Winter Championships
Each January, Special Olympics Virginia speed skaters and bowlers from across the state meet in Northern Virginia for the Winter Championships. Don’t-miss-moments include the Opening Ceremony, Victory Dance and of course - the competitions!Since 2009, the Winter Championships is even LOUDER thanks to our new Volunteer to Cheer initiative that encourages individuals and groups to cheer on our athletes as they go for the gold in bowling and speed skating.
Winter Championships, one of Special Olympics Virginia’s six state-level competitions, has been in Northern Virginia since 2002. Stay tuned for more details as the event approaches.
