Special Olympics Virginia holds five state-level competitions, 2,400 local and regional competitions and nearly 50 special events and fund raisers annually. The public is welcome to attend any of our events.

  • PAR Tournament

    Aug. 9, 2008 @ First Tee of Chesterfield
    Help us start the golf ball rolling this season with the PAR tournament, featuring skills competitions for more than 100 Special Olympics athletes and a 4-man Captain’s Choice tournament in the morning. This tournament is presented by Farm Bureau & First Tee of Chesterfield.
  • Fall Championships

    Nov. 1-2, 2008 in Virginia Beach
    Volunteer to Cheer at the 21st annual Fall Championships, featuring roller skating, soccer, golf, bowling and volleyball competitions. Stay tuned to www.volunteer2cheer.com for "cheering" opportunities at this event, which is presented by the Virginia Knights of Columbus.
  • The Special Olympics Experience at the Boar’s Head

    Jan. 15-17, 2009 @ The Boar’s Head Inn in Charlottesville
    This tennis match invitational, which features competitive and interactive events at a world class venue, will pair athletes from across the United States, and possibly an international team. Athletes will compete throughout the weekend, which also features a clinic with the University of Virginia’s men and women’s tennis teams and an opportunity for members of the local community to come in and play tennis with our athletes.   • Winter Championships

    Northern Virginia (date and locations to be determined)
    Come "be a fan in the stands" when more than 400 Special Olympics Virginia athletes go for the gold in bowling, figure skating, speed skating (ice) and gymnastics! Stay tuned for more details on this event, which is presented by Exxon and Booz Allen Hamilton
  • Alpine Skiing Championships

    Jan. 26-27, 2009 @ Wintergreen Resort
    Bring your winter coat and cheer on more than 100 Special Olympics Virginia athletes when they compete in beginner, intermediate and advanced-level skiing competitions at Wintergreen. This event is presented by Wintergreen Resort.
